The Swag Bag is a great bag for everyday or overnight trips. The finished size is approximately 11 inches deep, 8 inches wide, and 15 inches long. There are six inside pocket openings, and two cute outside pockets. It has a zipper closure that some have said is the easiest zipper that they have ever sewn. You also can choose two options for attaching your desired length of straps. Included in the pattern are directions for making fabric buds, or you can let your imagination go wild with embellishment ideas.

Fabric Requirements
Outer Bag and Pockets with Four Fabrics:
3/8 yd of four fabrics or four fat quarters (18 x 22 inches). Fat quarters will require an additional 1/4 yd or fat quarter for the outside pockets, or the pockets can be pieced from leftover fabric.
Outer Bag and Pockets with Two Fabrics:
5/8 yd of two fabrics.
Straps, Zipper Placket, and Bias Binding:
1/2 yd of accent fabric.
Lining and Inside Pockets:
1 1/8 yds.
Fabric Bud Embellishments *:
Approximately 2 yds of thin cording (1/4 inch or less in diameter).
Fusible Fleece for Bag and Straps:
7/8 yd of medium weight fusible fleece. (ThermolamĀ® by Pellon is a good weight.)
In addition you will need:
14 inch or longer polyester/nylon coil zipper. Do not get a zipper with large molded plastic or metal teeth. The color should coordinate with the accent fabric used for the zipper placket.
Temporary basting tape like Wonder TapeĀ® by Dritz is helpful, but not required.
*Instructions are included for making the fabric buds shown on the cover. Tassels, beads, buttons, or other embellishments can be substituted for the fabric buds.
