Please note: this is what works for us .... every machine is different ... tweak as necessary

Instead of placing the thread on the machine spindle, place it horizontally in a small bowl and place the bowl behind the machine and thread the machine as normal

​

Make stitch length a little longer (you want to be able to see it)

​

Loosen the tension slightly (you don't want the thread to "sink" into the fabric)

​

Use your regular thread in the bobbin

​

Use your regular needle in the machine 

​

Additional instructions for Bernina users (this information was provided to me by people who use Bernina machines and is not official)

Some models may issue an error because there is no spool on the spindle (just put any spool on there)

​

Use a Microtex needle.
